Karl Friedrich Schinkel Ring for 2018 for Dr. Jerzy Ilkosz

We are very happy to announce that on 29 October 2018 the director of the Museum of Architecture in Wrocław, Dr Jerzy Ilkosz, received the Karl Friedrich Schinkel Ring for the year 2018. This is one of the most important international distinctions for persons and institutions dealing with the protection of monuments.

The Federal Republic of Germany awarded Dr. Jerzy Ilkosz for his special contribution to the protection of the Building Archive in Wrocław and for his research on Wrocław’s modernist architecture.

The German National Committee for the Protection of Monuments was founded in 1973 and has been awarding this honorable mention since 1978. Dr. Jerzy Ilkosz is, after the Professor Jan Zachwatowicz from Warsaw, the second Pole who received such an honor.
