The publication accompanying the ‘Dobrzaniecki i…’ exhibition is the 17th volume in the Wrocławskie Środowisko Artystyczne’ series, this time devoted to Professor Andrzej Klimczak-Dobrzaniecki, painter, draughtsman, didactician, former rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, educator of many generations of artists. His work has permanently entered the canon of Wrocław art. The protagonist of the book was a student and continuator of the legacy of Eugeniusz Geppert, an excellent colourist and creator of an original, recognisable painting language. Klimczak-Dobrzaniecki is also the author of wonderful cycles of drawings and graphics, an erudite man, a lover of literature, an undeniable authority and friend.

The album by the painter’s daughter, Alicja Klimczak-Dobrzaniecka, on the one hand reflects her personal relationship with her father, and on the other reflects her analytical attitude as a researcher confronting the work of this outstanding artist.
