cotton bag, 44x42 cm, designed by Łukasz Paluch, made by PANATO
The motif of the bag is the Trzonolinowiec – multi-family building, designed by architect Jacek Burzyński and engineer Andrzej Skorupa (in collaboration with Zbigniew Kuziela) in 1962.

An iconic Wrocław skyscraper, located at the intersection of Tadeusza Kościuszki and Dworcowa Streets. Built as an architectural experiment, it is a prototype building with a core structure and ceilings suspended on cables. The most important load-bearing element of this bold, innovative “hanging” structure is a cast reinforced concrete core, topped with a head in which the ropes supporting the ceilings are anchored. The building has 11 floors with 44 apartments arranged around the core, each on a square plan with a strip of windows running almost the entire length of the wall. The core houses the installation shafts, staircase, and chute. The specific design of the “house on chicken legs” allowed for the use, for the first time in Wrocław, of an air heating system distributed in the ceilings – instead of radiators, the residents had warm floors. The building’s facades are smooth, accentuated only by double loggias and rows of windows.
The building was commissioned in 1967 and immediately hailed as the “Mister of Wrocław.” It was home to musicians associated with the philharmonic and opera singers, but the most important tenant of Trzonolinowiec remains actor Bogusław Linda!
A few years after the building was completed, problems arose – the ceilings swayed in strong winds and the partition and curtain walls began to crack. It was decided to take it out of use and carry out reinforcement work – the steel cables were encased in concrete, steel columns were added on the ground floor, and the walls were replaced. This measure disrupted the main idea of ceilings suspended on cables, but nevertheless allowed the core building to be put back into use in 1974. The problem returned in 2023 – as subsequent expert opinions showed, the technical condition of the building was so poor that its residents were moved to replacement apartments and the building was referred for a general renovation. The Wrocław-based Szlachcic Architekci studio is responsible for the modernization concept of the Trzonolinowiec.
